South Pasadena Declares Halloween ‘John Carpenter Night’

South Pasadena, California was immortalized in 1978 when John Carpenter used some of the now-iconic streets and locations to double as his vision of the fictional mid-western town of Haddonfield, Ill. in the original Halloween, and last week the city proclaimed that this Halloween October 31st will be “John Carpenter Night” in honor of the director.

On Oct. 16, Carpenter was present as South Pasadena Mayor Richard D. Schneider read the proclamation making the honor official, according to Pasadena Star News

The source article further states, “the motion picture put South Pasadena on the Hollywood map with ‘Nichol’s Hardware Store’ at 966 Mission St., ‘The Myers House’ at 1000 Mission St., and a home at 1115 Oxley St.”
