Jamie Lee Curtis Pays Tribute to ‘Halloween’ in ‘Scream Queens’

Jamie Lee Curtis says that there is a clear Laurie Strode moment paying tribute to her Halloween history in the second episode of her new horror comedy anthology Scream Queens, which will premiere on Fox in September.

Currently making the rounds to promote the new series, Curtis recently told THR, “In episode two, there is a wordless homage that I threw in that was me tipping my hat to all you Laurie Strode lovers.”

How cool is that?

Series creator Ryan Murphy, who also created American Horror Story and Glee, further reveals that Curtis’ character Dean Cathy Munsch in will manifest shades of her iconic Halloween role of Laurie Strode.

“Yes, if you’re going to hire Jamie Lee Curtis, you want to see her kicking ass and fighting back and doing all of those things that you loved her dong, so we’re writing a scene right now where she’s fighting three killers,” Murphy said. “I come at the stuff from a real fanboy place.”

Murphy also stated that he wants to see Curtis’ character have sex with an 18-year-old, describing the new series as “Halloween meets Heathers“.

The show also stars Emma Roberts (Scream 4, American Horror Story), Abigail Breslin (Maggie), Lea Michele (Glee), Keke Palmer (Masters of Sex), Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and pop singer Ariana Grande.

Scream Queens will have a 2-hour premiere on Tuesday, September 22 at 8pm.
