‘Haunters’ Documentary Explores Extreme Halloween Scares

Halloween haunts and the haunt culture as a whole has never been bigger than it is right now, and the new documentary Haunters: The Movie promises to take you further into the scariest experiences in the country like never before.

From the official synopsis, Haunters: The Movie is a documentary about the visionaries who create some of today’s most controversial interactive horror attractions and what the increasing demand for “full contact” extreme experiences tells us about society and the psychology of scaring people.

It is being billed as the first feature film to expose audiences to the sub-culture of extreme horror attractions and to uncover the reasons behind America’s increasing obsession with haunted houses and the demand for truly immersive entertainment.

Director and producer Jon Schnitzer filmed hundreds of hours of behind-the-scenes and personal footage of professional and home-haunters, their families, the monsters, the fans who love them, horror icons, and scientists as they conduct an experiment to discover why we love to scare and be scared.

The film was granted exclusive access to many  of the most popular, theatrical, and shocking haunts in America, including Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, Knott’s Scary Farm, McKamey Manor, Delusion, Blackout and more.

Haunters: The Movie is the first feature film production from The Brain Factory, a production company that creates immersive and interactive experiences for pop culture icons, publications, and historic celebrations.

A release date for Haunters as not yet been set, but we will bring you that news to you as soon as it is announced.
