Samara Morgan returns to theaters in just few weeks (originally scheduled for last October), and a brand new official trailer for Rings, the second sequel to The Ring, has arrived online today.
Following 2002’s The Ring and its sequel The Ring 2 (2005), this time around, a young woman, Julia, played by Matilda Lutz, grows increasingly anxious as her boyfriend explores a dark subculture surrounding a disturbing videotape that supposedly kills viewers seven days after they view it. Opening an email attachment she really shouldn’t have, Julia ultimately sacrifices herself to save her beau, though, over the course of her last week on Earth, she discovers another mysterious “movie within the movie” no one else has ever seen before.
In addition to Lutz, Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory, Urban Legend), Lizzie Brochere (American Horror Story’s), and Aimee Teegarden (Scream 4, Friday Night Lights) also star in Rings, directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez (Before the Fall).
Rings will arrive in theaters on February 3.
