Legendary actor Dick Van Dyke is a huge Halloween fan who gets in the spirit every year by going all out to decorate his home in Hollywood, proud to have the most popular house on his street for tick or treaters since the ’60s, but this year he’s stepping up his home haunt game with a monsterous new animatronic decoration from Distortions Unlimited.
Van Dyke says, “I started in the ’60s, so I guess it’s been about 50 years. I started with the Frankenstein monster, and then I added Dracula, and finally I had a yard full and I had to get a couple cops to come and handle the traffic. And in those days you couldn’t buy anything like this. I mean, when I saw you guys (Distortions Unlimited), I thought, ‘Whoa!'”
Distortions Unlimited is known for manufacturing animatronics, props, and masks for Halloween and haunted attractions, and apparently when Van Dyke heard about what they can offer, he did not hesitate to have the company come to his house to install a new addition in his front yard, in preparation for Halloween this year.
You can watch the entertaining video below, which will make you love Dick Van Dyke even more than you already do, as he laughs in glee as the giant new decoration is tested out by terrifying a few of the neighborhood kids.
