This is turning out to be the best year John Carpenter fans have had in a long time, with new special editions of The Fog, Prince of Darkness, and Body Bags already on the way from Scream Factory and a 35th Anniversary edition of Halloween coming from Anchor Bay, now comes word that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will also release In the Mouth of Madness for the first time on Blu-ray this year.
Warner Bros. announced yesterday that John Carpenter’s 1995 gem In the Mouth of Madness will debut on Blu-ray just in time for Halloween, on October 15. In the Mouth of Madness stars Sam Neill, Julie Carmen, Jurgen Prochnow, Charlton Heston, and a young Hayden Christensen.
In the film, “Best-selling author and Stephen King contemporary Sutter Cane’s newest novel is literally driving his readers insane. When the author inexplicably vanishes, an insurance investigator named John Trent (Sam Neill) is hired by Arcane Publishing director Jackson Harglow (Charlton Heston) to track the author down. But Trent, along with Cane’s editor Linda Styles (Julie Carmen), soon finds himself crossing the barrier between fact and fiction, and entering a terrifying world of evil and madness from which there is no escape.”
