‘Halloween Returns’ To Film In Louisiana

While casting news for the recently announced Halloween Returns should begin coming out any day now, we have learned where the newest installment in the Michael Myers movie franchise will be filmed and what day shooting is currently scheduled to begin.

According to industry resource Backstage, Halloween Returns will be filmed in Louisiana, with production set to start on July 15, exactly one month after the highly anticipated sequel was officially announced. The film’s IMDb page has also been recently updated to reflect this.

Nancy Nayor is listed as casting director, with previous genre credits including Scream 4, The Grudge, Last House on the Left, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and Drive Angry, among others.

Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (writers of Saw IV-VII, The Collector, The Collection, Feast) have written the script, with Dunstan set to direct.

Plot details are not yet confirmed, but it is believed that Halloween Returns will be a direct followup to the 1981 sequel Halloween II, this time focusing on the 18-year-old child of one of Michael Myers’ past victims, and the kid of former Haddonfield deputy Gary Hunt (originally played by Hunter von Leer), who is still obsessed with the Myers case.
