John Carpenter Announces New Album, First U.S. Tour Date

Legendary director John Carpenter surprised everyone this week announcing a new album of original music by Carpenter, and even better, it is already completed and will be released in April.

A sequel of sorts to the composer’s debut album of original material released in 2015, John Carpenter’s Lost Themes II will arrive on April 15, from Sacred Bones Records. You can pre-order now here.

If that’s not enough, the Master of Horror made another announcement today that he will perform his first ever U.S. concert in New York City this summer.

John Carpenter’s Live Retrospective concert hits the stage at the PlayStation Theater on Broadway in New York City on Friday, July 8.

He will play themes from his classic films as well as new compositions from both Lost Themes albums. Tickets are available now here.

After a couple dates overseas this year, the July 8 event will mark Carpenter’s first ever concert performance in America.
