‘The Great Pumpkin’ Turns 50 with ‘Peanuts’ Corn Mazes Across America
The classic animated Halloween special It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is celebrating its 50th anniversary since first premiering on CBS back on October 27, 1966, and to help honor the milestone, Peanuts inspired corn mazes will be popping up all over America in October 2016.
As reported by The Washington Post, Peanuts Worldwide is planning a number of events tied to the Halloween special’s golden anniversary, including more than 90 farms coast to coast throughout the country that will feature Peanuts-themed corn mazes to mark the occasion.
The mazes, created with the help of the Utah-based company the MAiZE, will be carved into farms that range from four to 40 acres. And given the current electoral season, it’s only fitting that several of the mazes will feature political slogans, such as “Snoopy for Prez”.
The farms will also screen the TV special and feature Great Pumpkin artwork.
