‘Stranger Things’ Star Millie Bobby Brown Joins ‘Godzilla’ Sequel
More monster news tonight! Following her breakout performance as “Eleven” in the Netflix hit Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown has landed her first feature film role in the upcoming sequel Godzilla: King of Monsters, to be directed by Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat, Krampus).
THR reports that Brown has signed on to star in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which Dougherty also co-wrote with Zach Shields, his partner on Legendary’s Christmas horror movie Krampus.
A sequel to Gareth Edwards’ 2014 Godzilla, the new film will follow this year’s Kong: Skull Island as the third film in the Godzilla–King Kong “MonsterVerse”.
Though Legendary currently has a distribution deal with Universal Studios, they decided to send the rights back over to Warner Bros. in order to re-team Godzilla and King Kong, and to create a new “ecosystem” of giant super-species, both classic and new, which has now officially been termed the MonsterVerse.
Kong: Skull Island arrives in theaters on March 10, followed by Godzilla: King of Monsters on March 22, 2019, with Godzilla vs. Kong scheduled to rumble on May 29, 2020.
