John Carpenter’s ‘Tales of Science Fiction’ Comic Trailer Released
Following the 2015 horror anthology Tales for a HalloweeNight and its 2016 Volume 2 followup, not to mention the recent continuing adventures Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China and and Snake Plissken from Escape From New York in comic form, writer/director/producer/musician John Carpenter is unleashing his latest comic book project, Tales of Science Fiction, this summer, and he has released a fittingly badass official trailer featuring the unmistakable music of the man himself.
From Storm King Productions, John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction is a monthly anthology series that will delve into “the darkness and wonder of everything the genre has to offer,” according to Nerdist.
The first three-issue arc is called “Vault” and has been written by James Ninness with art by Andres Esparza.
The official synopsis: When the moon-bound crew of Gaia stumbles across an enormous alien vessel, more technologically advanced than their own, priorities change. The mystery deepens when the crew discovers the name of the vessel along the hull… written in English: VAULT.
The first issue will be available on July 26.
We are also looking forward to John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight Volume 3, coming on October 10.
According to the official synopsis, the new collection will include 13 more twisted tales of terror, tricks, and treats. In volume 3 of the award-winning graphic novel series, Carpenter brings together another stellar ensemble of storytellers from the worlds of movies, novels and comics for another spine-tingling collection of stories that will haunt your dreams at night.
