Trent Reznor Cover of John Carpenter’s ‘Halloween’ Theme Drops on Friday the 13th

Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and his composing partner Atticus Ross will release their brand new cover of John Carpenter’s iconic Halloween movie theme tomorrow, on Friday the 13th.

It appears as though this track may be a bonus addition to Carpenter’s Anthology album, which will be released this month.

John Carpenter’s Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998 brings together 13 classic themes from Carpenter’s illustrious career together on one volume for the first time. Each theme has been newly recorded with the same collaborators that Carpenter worked with on his hit Lost Themes studio albums: his son, Cody Carpenter, and godson, Daniel Davies.

The album will be released on October 20, but this track will become available on Amazon this Friday the 13th. While it is not on the album’s track listing, it is likely part of an upcoming deluxe “remix” edition or perhaps a bonus track.

Clocking in with a runtime of over 7 minutes, you can listen to the full track below and then buy it here!
