‘Halloween’ 2018 Trailer Preview Unveiled!

Along with Monday’s announcement that the first trailer for Blumhouse’s new Halloween movie would be released this Friday (June 8), we were also promised that we’d “get some goodies before then, too,” and the second of those goodies has just arrived as we have an official preview of the trailer!

In the 15 second clip, dialogue from the movie can be heard referencing the first film as closeups of Michael Myers’ mask are shown. At one point Laurie Strode says, “You don’t believe in the Boogeyman? You should.” It ends with John Carpenter’s iconic Halloween theme.

Of course we will have the trailer for you here at Halloween Daily News as soon as it is released online this Friday morning, June 8, as well as whatever other treats from Haddonfield are released before then, but right now you’ll want to scroll down to check out this new preview.

John Carpenter returns to the franchise he created 40 years ago as executive producer, along with Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions and Malek Akkad of Trancas International, whose father, Mustapha Akkad, financed Carpenter’s 1978 masterpiece.

Andi Matichak plays Allyson, Laurie Strode’s granddaughter in the new film, with Judy Greer as Laurie’s daughter Karen Strode, and of course Jamie Lee Curtis returning to once again reprise her role as Laurie Strode.

Nick Castle reprises his role from Carpenter’s original 1978 Halloween to once again play The Shape along with James Jude Courtney as the new Michael Myers.

The cast also includes Virginia “Ginny” Gardner as Vicky, Miles Robbins as Dave, , and Drew Scheid as Oscar, Dylan Arnold as Cameron, along with Will Patton as Hawkins, Rhian Rees as Dana, and Omar J. Dorsey as Sheriff Barker.

The official synopsis: Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film.

The new film is directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay by he, Danny McBride, and Jeff Fradley. Green and McBride are also executive producers under their Rough House Pictures banner, along with Akkad, Blum Carpenter, and Curtis.

Halloween will be distributed worldwide by Universal Pictures, arriving in theaters on October 19.

As I’m sure you are well aware, 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the release of John Carpenter’s original 1978 Halloween. It is also worth noting that the film’s release date also happens to be Michael Myers’ birthday (in 1957), according to the original franchise canon.
