‘Halloween’s Rhian Rees Nominated for Most Frightened Performance MTV Movie Award

The annual fan-voted MTV Movie Award nominations were announced this week, and we are thrilled to see that our friend Rhian Rees has been nominated for Most Frightened Performance for her role as “investigative journalist” Dana Haines in 2018’s Halloween.

While Jordan Peele’s Us (my favorite movie of 2019 so far) has three nominations including Best Movie as well as Best Performance in a Movie and Best Villain for Lupita Nyong’o, the horror genre is also represented by last year’s Hereditary, Bird Box, The Curse of La Lorona, and the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House.

Rees is nominated for her bathroom scene with Michael Myers in Halloween 2018, and in case you’re wondering how scared she really was during filming, be sure to read our interview with Rhian here.

Her fellow nominees in the Most Frightened Performance category include Alex Wolff for Herditary, Linda Cardellini for The Curse of La Llorona, Sandra Bullock for Bird Box, and Victoria Pedretti for The Haunting of Hill House.

The winners are determined by fan votes online, and you can vote now here.

The 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards will air on MTV on Monday (#MichaelMyersMonday), June 17.
