‘Trick’ Trailer Introduces a New Halloween Killer

The team of director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer are back with the new Halloween slasher Trick, featuring a top notch cast including genre icon Tom Atkins (Halloween III: Season of the Witch), and the official trailer has just been released, giving us our first look at the killer, Trick Weaver, and promising the birth of a new horror icon.

Lussier previously teamed with Farmer on the My Bloody Valentine remake and the highly underrated Drive Angry, and they were at one time announced to write/direct a sequel to Rob Zombie’s Halloween films a decade ago, back in 2009.

The plot is set in a small town, where a masked madman visits every Halloween. Detective Mike Denver (played by Omar Epps) will stop at nothing to discover who he is and how to stop him.

Trick also stars Kristina Reyes as Cheryl Winston, a former final girl who survived the latest round of killings in her small town. Lussier adds: “Cheryl (is) the survivor of Trick’s first rampage, her innocence slain along with the lives of her friends as she finds herself caught in the battle between Trick and those who hunt him. But who is hunting whom?”

Trick will introduce a brand new slasher named Trick Weaver, who kills as performance art.

In addition to Epps, Reyes, and Atkins, the cast also includes Jamie Kennedy (Scream), produced by Ita Kennedy and Ellen Wander.

RLJE Films will release Trick in theaters and on digital platforms on October 18, kicking off what the studio hopes will be a new franchise.
