Funko and Disguise Sign Licensing Deal for Pop! Masks Collection
Funko is now officially in the mask business, as a new multi-year licensing deal with Disguise, Inc. was announced fittingly during this week’s Funkoween halfway-to-Halloween celebration.
Funko has signed a multi-year licensing deal with Disguise Inc., the costume division of Jakks Pacific, to design, market, manufacture, and distribute an all-new product expression called Pop! Masks, as first reported by The Toy Book.
The new oversized masks feature the distinct look of Funko’s Pop! brand of collectible figures, and they are designed to be both wearable and displayable. Adding to the collectability, each style will be produced in limited runs.
“The iconic Funko Pop! style translates into a really fun wearable product for cosplay and dress-up occasions,” Disguise President and General Manager Tara Hefter said. “We know Funko fans and Halloween lovers will jump at the opportunity to wear, collect and display our new Pop! Masks.”
The first wave of Pop! Masks is available to preorder from Amazon in North America and Europe, including Batman and Harley Quinn, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man (Ghostbusters), Pennywise (It), and Jack Skellington and Sally (The Nightmare Before Christmas) from licensors including Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
In 2022, the line will expand with more than 30 new styles from a variety of additional licensors.
