Inaugural Preserve Halloween Festival Coming to Texas November 2021

The Halloween Preservation Society presents the inaugural Preserve Halloween Festival, coming to Irving, Texas in November 2021.

Celebrity guests already announced to be appearing a the event include The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown voice actor Peter Robbins, The Last Drive-In host Joe Bob Briggs (watch our interview here) and Darcy the Mail Girl (aka Diana Prince), Trick or Treat: A History of Halloween author Lisa Morton, musician and artist Eerie Von (Misfits, Samhain, Danzig), and The Houses October Built director/actor Bobby Roe and co-writer/actor Zack Andrews. Additional guests will be announced in the coming weeks.

Festival organizer and Halloween Preservation Society founder Greg Hallows told Halloween Daily News, “I wanted to continue the tradition of the Halloween Preservation Society, the Preserve Halloween Podcast, and all the projects forthcoming involving Halloween…to continue to try and educate and entertain people, but with the festival, being able to do so while meeting the people who love Halloween like I do.”

I asked Hallows how this event will be differ from a typical horror convention or Halloween industry event. “The simple answer for me is focus,” he said. “The best way to describe the event would be as a comic con but with a super focus on Halloween. Of course, it may naturally attract the horror crowd and community, and that’s wonderful, but this is a Halloween event. I want everyone that I bring in to have some ties to Halloween in some way.”

Hallows says he hopes that the festival will become an annual event, which could possibly move to other locations in the future. “I’m starting off fairly small, because I don’t want it to be a one and done type of situation,” he said.

The first Preserve Halloween Festival is happening Nov. 19-21 at the Irving Convention Center in Irving, Texas. Tickets are on sale and vendor spaces are available now here.
