‘Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two’ First Clip Introduces Sofia Falcone

Batman: The Long Halloween Part One is out now (read our review here), with The Long Halloween Part Two arriving on Digital this month, and the first official clip was released online this week, introducing Sofia Falcone.

In the nearly two-minute clip, released via IGN, a new Falcone arrives in Gotham City on Father’s Day, as Sofia, daughter of mob boss Carmine “the Roman” Falcone, comes to her father’s aide, only to discover that Carmine is recruiting a new breed of criminal to help with his plan.

Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, My Bloody Valentine 2009) leads the cast as Batman/Bruce Wayne, along with Naya Rivera, the late Glee star who died in July of 2020 after already completing her voice work as Catwoman/Selina Kyle.

The voice cast also includes Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent, Billy Burke as James Gordon, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, Laila Berzins as Sofia Falcone, David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad) as Calendar Man and Penguin, Troy Baker as Joker, Amy Landecker as Barbara Gordon, Julie Nathanson as Gilda Dent, Jack Quaid (Scream) as Alberto, Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy, and Alastair Duncan as Alfred. Katee Sackhoff (Halloween: Resurrection, The Mandalorian) also joins the cast for Part Two, voicing Poison Ivy.

The films are directed by Chris Palmer (Superman: Man of Tomorrow) from a script that reteams him with Man of Tomorrow screenwriter Tim Sheridan.

The official synopsis for Part Two: Inspired by the iconic mid-1990s DC story from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two continues as the Holiday Killer is still at large and, with Bruce Wayne under the spell of the venomous Poison Ivy, Batman is nowhere to be found. Liberated by an unlikely ally, Bruce quickly uncovers the real culprit: Poison Ivy’s employer Carmine Falcone. The Roman, his ranks decimated by Holiday and his business spinning out of control, has been forced to bring on less desirable partners – Gotham City’s rogues’ gallery. In the meantime, Harvey Dent is confronting battles on two fronts: attempting to end the mob war while also dealing with a strained marriage. And, after an attack that leaves Harvey hideously disfigured, the District Attorney unleashes the duality of his psyche that he’s strived his entire life to suppress. Now, as Two-Face, Dent decides to take the law into his own hands and deliver judgment to those who’ve wronged him, his family and all of Gotham. Ultimately, the Dark Knight must put together the tragic pieces that converged to create Two-Face, the Holiday Killer, Batman and Gotham City itself.

The Motion Picture Association has rated Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two R for “some violence and bloody images.”

Originally published in 1996-1997, the original 13-issue comic book story The Long Halloween, by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, follows a killer named Holiday who murders people on every holiday for a year, from Halloween to the next Halloween, and it also features many of Batman’s iconic villains as he investigates the murders over the course of a year.
