‘Under Wraps 2’ Brings Harold the Mummy Back for Another Halloween

Harold the Mummy will return for another Halloween adventure in the comedy Under Wraps 2, a sequel to the 2021 remake of Disney Channel’s first ever original movie, Under Wraps (read our review here).

Alex Zamm returns to direct the upcoming sequel, written by Josh A Cagan, as first reported by Deadline.

The first film’s stars Malachi Barton, Christian J. Simon, Sophia Hammons, and Phil Wright are all back to reprise their roles, along with Melanie Brook also returning as Buzzy. T.J. Storm, Rryla McIntosh, and Jordan Conley also join the cast for the sequel, in addition to Adam Wylie, who played the original Gilbert in the 1997 Under Wraps movie. Executive producers are Todd Y. Murata and Fernando Szew. The Disney Channel Original Movie will be produced by MarVista Entertainment.

Under Wraps 2 reportedly picks up as Amy (Sophia Hammons) is preparing for her father’s Halloween-themed wedding to his fiancé Carl, but plans soon go awry when Amy and her friends Gilbert (Christian J. Simon) and Marshall (Malachi Barton) discover that their mummy friend Harold (Phil Wright) and his beloved mummy bride Rose may be in danger.

The sequel will introduce the new character Sobek, an evil mummy with a thousand-year-old grudge against his best friend-turned-bitter rival Harold, who is unexpectedly awakened and then goes out for revenge. With help from his hypnotized lackey Larry, Sobek kidnaps Rose, and Amy, Gilbert, Marshall, Buzzy, and Harold must use their skills once again to save her and get back in time to attend the wedding.

Under Wraps 2 is expected to premiere on Disney Channel before moving over to Disney+ this October.
