Watch John Carpenter’s Surprise Panel at ‘Halloween’ 45 Years of Terror [Video, Photos]
The epic Halloween: 45 Years of Terror franchise reunion convention brought the biggest Michael Myers event yet, with over 60 guests and thousands of fans from around the world, to Pasadena, California, and HDN was there to capture all of the excitement to share with you, including the surprise appearance of legendary director and franchise creator John Carpenter.
After being listed simply as “TBA” for weeks leading up to the event, the final panel of the weekend was announced early on Saturday to be featuring none other than John Carpenter, who took part in an historic Q&A, joined in conversation on stage by his original 1978 Halloween cast and collaborators Nick Castle, Tommy Lee Wallace, Nancy Loomis, P.J. Soles, and John Michael Graham.
Halloween franchise producer Malek Akkad, of Trancas Films, also appeared briefly, after he was invited on stage by Carpenter at the beginning of the panel, before declaring, “This is about these legends”.
During the Q&A, Carpenter talked about returning to directing for an episode of the upcoming Peacock series Suburban Screams (premiering this Friday the 13th; watch the trailer here), and when asked if he would be recording any new film scores, he cryptically answered, ‘Yes, we will.”
