‘Nosferatu’ Teaser Trailer Previews Epic Gothic Vampire Remake

The original vampire returns to movie screens this year in writer and director Robert Eggers’ new remake, Nosferatu, and today brings a chilling first look at what promises to be an epic horror experience.

The film is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.

Bill Skarsgård (It, The Crow) leads the cast as Count Orlok/Nosferatu, along with Willem Dafoe (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), Nicholas Hoult (Renfield), Emma Corrin,Lily-Rose Depp Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Simon McBurney and Ralph Ineson (Lord of Misrule).

Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Northman) directs from a script he wrote. Eggers also serves as a producer alongside Chris Columbus, Eleanor Columbus, Jeff Robinov, and John Graham. 

The original vampire classic that launched a genre, the 1922 F.W. Murnau classic silent film Nosferatu was previously remade by Werner Herzog in 1979, and Dafoe previously played Count Orlok actor Max Schreck in 2000’s excellent Shadow the Vampire.

Nosferatu arrives in theaters on Christmas Day, December 25.
