Marvel’s ‘Agatha All Along’ is “A Halloween Show”
The next upcoming live action series from the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) is the witch-centric Agatha All Along, a spinoff of WandaVision, and it is “a Halloween show,” according to new comments from a top Marvel executive.
On Wednesday’s episode of the Official Marvel Podcast, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation Brad Winderbaum said, “Agatha is…really fun, but it’s really scary and it gets quite dramatic. She’s an amazing anti-hero and that show…lures you in with the fun of Halloween, and before you know it, you’re crying. It’s a Marvel brand of scary. It’s a Halloween show. There are deadly stakes in this series. It’s a fun ride, but it’s a dangerous one,” as reported today by EW.
Kathryn Hahn reprises her WandaVision role as the witch Agatha Harkness in her own spinoff series. The cast also includes Patti LuPone as Lilia, Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer, Debra Jo Rupp as Sharon, and Ali Ahn as Alice; all of which are new characters described by the show’s creator Jac Schaeffer (who also created WandaVision) as “covenless witches,” as well as Emma Caulfield Ford reprising her character Dottie from WandaVision, and Aubrey Plaza in an as yet unknown role.
You can watch the official title and premiere announcement for the new show and see a first look image below, while we await an official trailer, expected very soon.
Agatha All Along premieres on Disney+ on September 18.
