[Interview] The Butcher Brothers Talk Wendigo Horror Movie ‘Consumed’ and Halloween
A wendigo is stealing human skin in the upcoming horror movie Consumed, arriving this week from The Butcher Brothers, aka director Mitchell Altieri and producer Phil Flores, and we talked to the filmmakers recently about the metaphor that the creature represents, keeping the gore visceral while fighting the temptation to reveal too much too soon, and more.
In the film, trapped between a madman seeking revenge and a skin-stealing monster, a married couple must find the strength to fight and make it out of the woods alive.
From The Butcher Brothers (The Hamiltons, April Fool’s Day)- director/producer Mitchell Altieri and producer Phil Flores – from a script by David Calbert, the cast includes Devon Sawa (Chucky, Idle Hands, Final Destination), Courtney Halverson (Unfriended, St. Agatha), and Mark Famiglietti (Terminator 3).
Consumed will be released in theaters and on demand this Friday, August 16.
In our fun video conversation with Altieri and Flores last week, we of course also talked about their love and passion for Halloween, which they agree is greatest day of the year.
