Watch Our ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Out of the Theater Reaction [Video]
More that 36 years after the original 1988 classic debuted, this year’s highlight anticipated, all-star Halloween-set sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is now playing in theaters.
HDN hit our local R/C Theatres multiplex on Thursday, Sept. 5, to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice on the big screen, and we loved every wacky and wild minute of it, plus we scored tin collectible popcorn bucket that advertises The Afterlife’s Leading Bio Exorcist.
Tim Burton reunites with Michael Keaton, back to reprise his role as the title character, with Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Scream, Scream VI, X), also leading the cast as Lydia’s (Winona Ryder) daughter, Astrid.
Winona Ryder is also back as Lydia Deetz, the central character she played in the first movie, and Catherine O’Hara returns as Lydia’s mom, Delia Deetz. The cast also includes Justin Theroux as Rory, Monica Bellucci as Delores, and Willem Dafoe as Wolf Jackson, all of whom are featured on their own character posters also released today, which you can view below.
Here’s the official synopsis: Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.
Tim Burton directs from a screenplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Wednesday), story by Gough, Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith (The LEGO Batman Movie), based on characters created by Michael McDowell and Larry Wilson. Danny Elfman is also back from the original film, and his numerous collaborations with Burton since, to compose the soundtrack for Beetlejuice 2.
You can watch our reaction to the film right out of the theater immediately after watching it for the first time below.
