[Interview] Lauren-Marie Taylor Talks ‘Friday the 13th Part 2’, Jason Voorhees, and More
When Lauren-Marie Taylor made her feature film debut as Vickie in the 1981 sequel Friday the 13th Part 2, she had no idea that it was the beginning of a blockbuster franchise and that she would be part of the undying legacy of Jason Voorhees, watching the character become a pop culture icon and the date of Friday the 13th of any month becoming an international holiday for horror fans, but she is an undeniably integral part of its tapestry, and so today, we are beyond excited to be celebrating this Friday the 13th with a new deep dive into her memories of Camp Blood, and much more.
After a brief chat during a press junket for her return to the genre in this year’s In a Violent Nature back in May, we were excited to welcome Taylor back for a much more extended, relaxed conversation about her entire experience working on Friday the 13th Part 2, shooting sack head Jason’s big reveal, the challenges of her death scene, her thoughts on those infamous brown panties, and much more.
We also discussed her earliest inspirations to pursue acting, her thoughts on the audience response to seeing her in a new slasher, and of course we talked about Halloween, and how Jason has become such a staple of the holiday.
