Watch John Carpenter’s ‘Tales for a HalloweeNight Vol. 10’ Trailer

Storm King Publishing presents John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight Vol. 10, out today, and a brand new trailer has just been released, previewing the horrors that await inside the 10th anniversary graphic novel collection.

Tales for a HalloweeNight Vol. 10 brings together true comics legends — 13 writers and 20 artists — for 12 new stories, including John Carpenter’s own “SOS”, leading this latest pack of tales.

As we previously reported, two bone-chilling collections of horrifying, twisted and tantalizing tales await readers this Halloween season as Storm King Comics celebrates the 10th anniversary of John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight with a brand-new volume and introduces readers to blood-curdling Brooklyn Stories, a collection of twisted tales by comics legend Frank Tieri and illustrator Cat Staggs.

“There’s no name more synonymous with Halloween than John Carpenter, and while the myriad stories in these two graphic-novel anthologies are wonderfully varied and eclectic, they all share the unique vibe that makes them worthy of the Carpenter name,” said Sandy King, founder and editor of Storm King Comics.

In John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight Vol. 10, Carpenter himself presents an original story called “SOS,” just one of 12 all-new stories that weave together into a maze of madness that continues the legacy of this popular anthology series. This new collection is a true rogues’ gallery of more than 30 of the most creative and innovative writers, artists and colorists working in comics today. Challenged by Storm King Comics to let their imaginations roam free with the only goal of keeping readers engrossed and terrified, this eclectic group of creators has delivered a ghoulish gallery of modern horror.

Among the writers and artists featured in Tales for a HalloweeNight are Frank Tieri (WolverineDeadpool) and Cat Staggs (SmallvilleDeath Mask), who have collaborated for more than seven years on stories that bring monsters, vampires, ghosts and other horrific beings—not all supernatural—to the streets of Brooklyn.

These gritty, dark and unforgettable tales are compiled in one astonishing volume: Brooklyn Stories: A Frank Tieri and Cat Staggs Collection, presented under the John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight banner. Featuring an introduction by Carpenter, this far-reaching mix of urban legends and terror also features a brand-new story by Tieri and Staggs that weaves throughout the collection. From the 1977 New York City blackout to the Coney Island fire of 1911 and even the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Brooklyn, Tieri’s tales are here to set the record straight about the terrifying “truth” behind these well-known events.

“Between these two unique books, every fan of horror will find something to disturb and delight them,” said King, who was the first female founder of a comics publishing company when she created Storm King Comics more than a decade ago. “This is the time of year to remember that fear is one of our most basic emotions, it fills every day of our lives, and can be a strong motivator to explore our darker sides.”

The newest titles come at the end of an extraordinary year for Storm King Comics, which has seen the growth of a new imprint, “Dark & Twisted,” with critically acclaimed titles like Long Haul and The Killing Hole, as well as the widely hailed conclusion to the two-volume Fetch series from the “John Carpenter Presents Storm Kids” imprint.

John Carpenter’s Tales for a HalloweeNight Vol. 10 and Brooklyn Stories: A Frank Tieri & Cat Staggs Collection are available in comics shops and from Storm King Comics starting today (September 25).

Both will be available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and local bookstores starting on October 8.

All titles can be ordered now at www.StormKingComics.com.
