Watch ‘Terrifier 3’s Art the Clown, David Howard Thornton Become Joker at Panel [Video]

Art the Clown is slaying Christmas and the box office with Terrifier 3, currently the number one movie in the country after defeating the original evil clown Joker, which is Art actor David Howard Thornton‘s dream role, as exhibited when he performed an unplanned stunningly chilling Joker monologue from Batman: The Animated Series, and we sure hope DC Studios head James Gunn is paying attention.

During the Terrifier 3 Q&A panel on Sunday, October 13, at the Nightmare Weekend horror convention in Richmond, Virginia, Thornton was on stage with the new film’s special effects makeup artist Heather Albert when the subject of Art defeating the Joker for the top spot at the box office came up early during the Q&A, as a fan in the audience shouted, “Do the laugh.”

David then answered by not just doing his version of the Joker’s laugh, but performing a two-minute monologue from a 1990s episode of Batman: The Animated Series in character as the iconic DC comics villain. Check it out in the video below.

In the new film, after surviving Art the Clown’s Halloween massacre, Sienna and her brother are struggling to rebuild their shattered lives. As the holiday season approaches, they try to embrace the Christmas spirit and leave the horrors of the past behind. But just when they think they’re safe, Art the Clown returns, determined to turn their holiday cheer into a new nightmare. The festive season quickly unravels as Art unleashes his twisted brand of terror, proving that no holiday is safe.

Terrifier 3 is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
