[Interview] Rob Scallon and Craig Benzine Talk ‘Haunt Season’ and Halloween
The latest entry in the Halloween haunt horror subgenre, the new slasher Haunt Season is out now on VOD, mandatory viewing this October, and we talked to producers Rob Scallon and Craig Benzine, who also appear in the movie, about what attracted them to this project, their own experiences with real life haunt attractions, what makes a great Halloween song, and more.
The official synopsis: A masked maniac targets cast members at a suburban Halloween haunt attraction, turning their staged injuries into gruesome real-life horrors. As the terror escalates, the lines between performance and reality blur.
The film was shot on-location at the Realm of Terror haunted house during its Halloween season, and features old school practical effects and makeup.
Written and directed by Jake Jarvi, the cast includes Rob Scallon (The Rob Scallon channel, Sonic Boom, WheezyWaiter), Craig Benzine (Wheezywaiter, Algorhythm, Oscar’s Hotel for Fantastical Creatures), Stephen Kristof, Jeremy Warner (Reporting for Christmas, The Coming, The Unseen), Katelin Stack (The Evil Three, Evil Lurks, The Natural), and Adam Hinkle (Chicago Fire, The Park, Under Covers).
Haunt Season is streaming now on VOD, from Epic Pictures’ specialty horror label Dread. (Stream Haunt Season on Prime Video here.)
