Horror Comedy Slasher ‘Hell of a Summer’ Digital and Physical Releases Announced

A new masked killer stalks a summer camp in the horror comedy Hell of a Summer, co-written, co-directed, and co-starring Stranger ThingsFinn Wolfhard and his Ghostbusters: Afterlife castmate Billy Bryk, and we the slasher is coming home on digital this week, before hitting physical media in July.

Dubbed Friday the 13th meets Wet Hot American Summer, the film follows Jason Hotchberg (Fred Hechinger), a 24-year-old camp counselor that feels out of touch with his teenage co-workers. What he doesn’t know is that a masked killer is lurking on the campgrounds, brutally picking counselors off one by one.

The ensemble cast includes Fred Hechinger (Gladiator 2, Nickel Boys), Abby Quinn (Knock at the Cabin, Landline), D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Warfare, Reservation Dogs), and Pardis Saremi (Death and Other Details), alongside Wolfhard and Bryk.

Hell of a Summer will be available for digital purchase and rental at home beginning on Tuesday, April 22, with the Blu-ray and DVD release following on July 8, from Neon (Longlegs, Immaculate, Cuckoo).

All formats for purchase will include special bonus features including: feature commentary with Billy Bryk, Finn Wolfhard, and Fred Hechinger, a blooper reel, a fireside chat, and much more.
