[Interview] Andy Tennant Talks Directing Thriller ‘Unit 234’ and Celebrating Halloween

The excellent new thriller Unit 234 opens in theaters and on VOD this week, and we recently talked to the film’s director Andy Tennant about stepping into a darker genre after so many hit rom coms like Sweet Home Alabama and Hitch, working with the great Don Johnson and Orphan‘s Isabelle Fuhrman, both of whom deliver outstand performances in the film, and more.

In a fun video conversation last week, we also of course talked about celebrating Halloween, and what the holiday means to him.

In the film, when a group of criminals comes to collect the contents of a storage unit, the woman running the storage facility has to play a game of cat and mouse to escape with her life.

Directed by Andy Tennant and written by Derek Steiner, Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan, Orphan: First Kill) leads the cast, along with Don Johnson (Miami Vice, Django Unchained, Knives Out) and Jack Huston (Antebellum, Mayfair Witches).

Unit 234 opens in theaters and on VOD this Friday, May 9.

You can watch our full video interview with Andy Tennant, premiering at 2:31 p.m. EST, as well as the film’s official trailer, below.
