Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ is Alive in Stunning Teaser Trailer
It’s alive and it’s coming to Netflix this fall, as the stunning first official teaser trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein has been unveiled, previewing what has just become the horror movie event of 2025.
Netflix debuted the teaser Saturday night during the streaming network’s live Tudum event, where writer and director Guillermo del Toro appeared on stage with his leads Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Moon Knight), who plays Victor Frankenstein, and Mia Goth (X, Pearl, Maxxxine), who plays Elizabeth Lavenza.
Jacob Elordi, who portrays The Monster, sent a video message ahead of the first look teaser drop, which promises an epic, beautiful, and maybe best adaptation yet of Mary Shelley’s immortal 1818 novel Frankenstein.
The cast also includes Cristoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) as Dr. Pretorius, as well as Felix Kammerer (All Quiet on the Western Front), Lars Mikkelsen (Ahsoka), David Bradley (Harry Potter), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Ralph Ineson (The Witch, Lord of Misrule), and Charles Dance (Game of Thrones).
In the film, Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale of Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
Frankenstein premieres on Netflix in November 2025.
