New ‘Halloween’ and ‘Halloween II’ Steelbooks Unveiled

John Carpenter’s immortal 1978 classic horror movie Halloween and its 1981 sequel Halloween II are being re-released in new limited edition Steelbooks, featuring all-new artwork that has just been unveiled, along with pre-orders.

The new Steelbooks of Halloween and Halloween II are available exclusively from Amazon.

The two-disc Halloween Steelbook set includes the previously released Scream Factory 4K Ultra HD disc and the film on Blu-ray, while the three-disc Halloween II Steelbook set includes the Scream Factory 4K, as well as the sequel on Blu-ray and DVD. There is no confirmation yet on what, if any, new bonus content will be included, but it will most likely carry over the previous release’s special features.

The new cover art for Halloween showcases Michael Myers‘ mask in the foreground, with a great rendition of his mad escape from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium on a dark and stormy night in 1978, as The Shape is atop the station wagon about to smash the window behind Nurse Marion Chambers. The back cover shows off the Myers House, complete with a lit jack o’ lantern on the porch, and the other half of Michael’s mask to match up with front when opened. The inner artwork is a classic shot of Nick Castle as Michael Myers.

The new cover art for Halloween II brings Michael’s blood teared mask from the sequel’s finale to the foreground, with The Shape walking through a blazing fire and Haddonfield police cars behind. The back cover, which again features the other half of the mask to coincide with the front, features a battered Laurie Strode desperately crawling toward Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. The inner artwork has a set photo the word “Samhain” left on the wall in the classroom scene.

You can see the new cover art below. The disc art is not yet available.

These new Steelbooks will be released on September 16.

Priced at $44.98, you can pre-order the Halloween Steelbook here, and pre-order the Halloween II Steelbook here.
