Watch Jason Voorhees Return in Official Short Film ‘Sweet Revenge’
The recently established Jason Universe‘s centerpiece of this year’s 45th anniversary of the original Friday the 13th, today Jason Voorhees is reborn the official short film Sweet Revenge, which just dropped and is available to watch for free online right now.
As this year’s 45th anniversary celebration of the original 1980 slasher that started it all continues, the “centerpiece” of that milestone celebration is described as a new “vignette” featuring the masked killer Jason Voorhees himself, happening as a “collaboration” with Angry Orchard.
This latest Jason Universe project is produced by franchise owner Horror, Inc., described as “the centerpiece of the franchise’s bold 45th anniversary campaign.”
In Sweet Revenge, “fans will drop into a chilling weekend in the woods filled with blood-soaked surprises only Jason can deliver.”
The new short film is written, directed, and produced by Mike P. Nelson, who brings the proper slasher credentials, having previously helmed 2021’s Wrong Turn and the recently wrapped Silent Night, Deadly Night remake coming this Christmas starring Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends).
Sweet Revenge will premiere on both the Jason Universe YouTube channel and through a site hosted by Angry Orchard Hard Cider, which is “sponsoring the vignette as part of a larger collaboration with the franchise.”
Of course, a much younger version of Jason is about to be seen in the much anticipated Crystal Lake series, which is now filming and coming next year from A24 for Peacock.
