[Interview] ‘Sketch’ Director and Cast Talk Family Monster Movie and Halloween

A future classic for all ages, Sketch is in theaters now, bringing wildly inventive creatures and all the heart of the best of Spielberg, from writer and director Seth Worley, making his feature film debut, who joined us recently to discuss the family friendly horror comedy, along with the film’s young leads Bianca Belle, Kalon Cox, and Kue Lawrence.

In our recent video conversations, we also of course talked about Halloween and what it means to each of them.

In the film, when a young girl’s sketchbook falls into a strange pond, her drawings come to life—unpredictable, chaotic, and dangerously real. As the town unravels, she and her brother must track down the creatures before they leave permanent damage. Their father, racing to find them through the fallout, must navigate a town in crisis to reunite his family and stop the disaster they never meant to unleash.

Written and directed by Seth Worley, the cast includes Tony Hale (Hocus Pocus 2, Arrested Development, Veep), D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place), Bianca Belle, Kue Lawrence, and Kalon Cox.

Sketch is now playing in theaters.
