Elisabeth Moss, Kate Hudson’s ‘Shell’ to Screen at Halloween Film Festival 2025

Halloween Daily News and OBX Entertainment are resurrecting the Halloween International Film Festival this October on the historic and haunted Outer Banks, North Carolina, where the town of Manteo is transforming into “Halloween Island,” and in addition to our 2025 Official Selections recently unveiled, we are excited to announce a special early screening of the upcoming feature film horror comedy Shell, starring Elisabeth Moss and Kate Hudson.

In the film: Desperate to reclaim her career, once-beloved actress Samantha Lake (Elisabeth Moss) is drawn into the glamorous world of wellness mogul Zoe Shannon (Kate Hudson)—only to uncover a monstrous truth beneath its flawless surface.

In addition to its leads Elisabeth Moss (The Invisible Man, The Handmaid’s Tale) and Kate Hudson (Almost Famous, The Skeleton Key, Glass Onion), the cast also includes Arian Moayed, Este Haim, Elizabeth Berkley, and Kaia Gerber, directed by Max Minghella (Spiral: From the Book of Saw, The Handmaid’s Tale).

Shell premiered at TIFF in 2024 and closed out Popcorn Frights Film Festival this year as their official Closing Night selection.

Halloween Daily News presents an exclusive early screening of Shell on Opening Night of the Halloween International Film Festival, Thursday, Oct. 2, at 9:00 p.m., following the world premiere of the new screenlife horror movie Groupchat at 7:00 p.m. and a full lineup of shorts, panels, and events beginning at 3:00 p.m.
