New Documentary on ‘Missing’ Halloween Movie ‘When Good Ghouls Go Bad’ Now Streaming

Archico Productions (Sharp Candy) has just released When Good Ghouls Go Missing, a brand new retrospective documentary on the “lost” 2001 made-for-TV Halloween movie When Good Ghouls Go Bad, and it is available to watch for free right now.

Starring Christopher Lloyd (The Addams Family, Wednesday, Spirit Halloween: The Movie, Back to the Future), in When Good Ghouls Go Bad: “When 12 year old Danny Walker moves to his father’s hometown in Minnesota, he finds that the town doesn’t celebrate Halloween and things aren’t quite what they appear to be.”

Directed by Patrick Read Johnson, who co-wrote the screenplay with John Lau, based on a concept by R.L. Stine, the film originally aired on the Fox Family television network, premiering on October 21, 2001.

The new retrospective interviews many of the principal cast members and co-writer John Lau about the movie and their memories from filming. It also devotes a chapter to the 2006 disappearance of the film’s young lead actor Joe Pichler, who went missing at age 18, and whose whereabouts and exactly what happened to him remain a mystery to this day.
