[Interview] Scarlet Duo Scarlet Hunts and Thirsty Talk Music, Makeup, and Halloween
The metal duo Scarlet, known individually only as Scarlet Hunts and Thirsty, dropped an appropriately Halloween-themed party single, the Dolly Style collaboration “Haunted Disco,” in October, and so we were excited to talk to them both recently about continuing to expand their musical genres from the harder edged metal of their 2020 debut album Obey the Queen to more recent anthems meant to inspire and motivate a new generation, and we attempted to uncover clues about their mysterious true origins.
In a our video conversation last week, we also of course talked about Halloween and how it has changed in Sweden over the past 400 years, really starting to come into its own in the 1990s, and how Scarlet and Thirsty feel about seeing their own signature skeleton and vampire makeup looks become Halloween costumes for their fans, and more.
