[Interview] ‘Influencers’ Director and Stars Talk Horror Sequel

The horror sequel Influencers premieres on Shudder this week, and we caught up with the film’s stars, Cassandra Naud and Emily Tennant, both returning from the 2023 original film Influencer, and writer and director Kurtis David Harder to talk about if it’s possible to exist online with any true authenticity, deepening characterization through costume design, and how their approach this time was different than the first movie.

In our video conversation last week, we also discussed what Naud and Tennant each learned about their characters, CW and Madison, respectively, that they did not know after the first film, and more.

In Influencers: “In the sun-drenched countryside of southern France, CW (Cassandra Naud) lives a quiet, idyllic life with her girlfriend Diane, hiding a dark obsession with murder and stolen identities. During an anniversary getaway, they cross paths with Charlotte, a bold, alluring influencer whose curiosity quickly turns intrusive. When CW acts on a violent impulse, the consequences spiral out of control, and as Diane begins to suspect the truth, CW’s carefully constructed life threatens to collapse around her.”

Written and directed by Kurtis David Harder, the film stars Cassandra Naud, Emily Tennant, Georgina Campbell, Lisa Delamar, Jonathan Whitesell, Veronica Long, and Dylan Playfair.

Influencers premieres on Shudder on Friday, December 12.
