Kevin Williamson Talks ‘Scream 7’ in New Featurette
Scream 7 is coming to theaters in February, and a new official behind the scenes featurette has just been released online, focusing on the return of Kevin Williamson, writer of the original Scream and now director of the latest installment.
The official synopsis: When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.
The new Ghostface sequel brings back Neve Campbell reprising her role as Sidney Prescott, as well as Courteney Cox as Gail Weathers, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, and Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, along with new blood Isobel May as Sydney’s daughter, Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), Sam Rechner (The Fabelmans), Asa Germann (The Boys), Mark Consuelos, and Anna Camp (Hysteria, True Blood).
Two former Ghostface killers, Matthew Lillard from the original Scream and Scott Foley from Scream 3 are also in the film, though in exactly what capacity or to what extent we still don’t know. Lillard of course played Stu Macher in the first Scream, revealed to be one of the two original Ghostface killers before he was seemingly killed, and the actor has made no secret in recent years of his desire to return to the role and his belief that Stu somehow survived. Foley played Sydney’s half-brother Roman in Scream 3.
Roger L. Jackson once again is the voice of Ghostface.
Franchise creator Kevin Williamson returns to direct the new movie, from a script by Guy Busick, who also co-wrote 2022’s Scream and 2023’s Scream VI.
Scream 7 will be released in theaters on February 27, 2026.
