‘Dolly’ is Your New Masked Nightmare [Review]
The new masked terror of your nightmares, Dolly is in select theaters now, and it is a lean, mean, and brutal must-see for horror fans, a gritty ode to the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre, shot on actual film, and as viscerally gnarly is it gets, featuring breakout performances from Max The Impaler and Fabianne Therese, channeling the icons of the genre, giving us a new slasher and final girl for the ages.
In Dolly: “A young woman, Macy, fights for survival after being abducted by a deranged, monster-like figure who wants to raise her as their child.”
Directed by Rod Blackhurst (Night Swim, Amanda Knox, Here Alone), from a script he co-wrote with Brandon Weavil, the film stars Fabianne Therese (Starry Eyes, John Dies at the End) and pro wrestler Max The Impaler, as Macy and Dolly, respectively. Seann William Scott (Final Destination, American Pie) and Ethan Suplee (My Name is Earl) round out the cast.
Dolly is in theaters now, and will stream on Shudder later this year.
