[Interview] ‘Dolly’ Director Rod Blackhurst Talks New Slasher, and Halloween

The new masked terror of your nightmares, Dolly hits theaters this week, and we talked to director and co-writer Rod Blackhurst recently about the real world origin of his lean, mean, and brutal slasher, and making even the most seasoned horror fan squirm in their seats.

In our video conversation last week, we also of course talked about Halloween and what it means to Blackhurst, and more.

In Dolly: “A young woman fights for survival after being abducted by a deranged, monster-like figure who wants to raise her as their child.”

Directed by Rod Blackhurst (Night Swim, Amanda Knox, Here Alone), from a script he co-wrote with Brandon Weavil, the film stars Fabianne Therese (Starry Eyes, John Dies at the End) and pro wrestler Max The Impaler, who both deliver outstanding, unforgettable performances giving us a new masked killer and final girl for the ages. Seann William Scott (Final Destination, American Pie) and Ethan Suplee (My Name is Earl) round out the cast.

Dolly arrives in theaters this Friday, March 6.
