Charles Cyphers Returns as Sheriff Brackett in ‘Halloween Kills’
Another returning cast member from John Carpenter’s original Halloween, has just been officially confirmed, as Charles Cyphers will reprise his role as Haddonfield Sheriff Leigh Brackett in Blumhouse’s upcoming sequel Halloween Kills.
After originating the role in 1978’s Halloween, Cyphers (The Fog, Escape From New York) reprised it briefly in 1981’s Halloween II.Â
News of Cyphers’ involvement in the new film was first revealed earlier this year when Tom Atkins let it slip in an interview, and then last week, a photo from the set showing the actor on set with a Brackett name tag was published online by the fan account Halloween Fans, which you can see below.
And now today (10/14/19), fittingly on #MichaelMyersMonday, Halloween Movies has officially confirmed that Cyphers will again portray Brackett in 2020’s Halloween Kills.
The cast includes Kyle Richards (read our interview here) reprising her 1978 role as Lindsey Wallace, Nancy Stephens reprising her 1978 role as Nurse Marion, and Anthony Michael Hall, who will take over the role of Tommy Doyle from Brian Andrews, as well as Robert Longstreet as Lonnie Elam, Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, and James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle continuing their collaboration as Michael Myers.
Also back from Halloween 2018 are Andi Matichak as Allyson, Judy Greer as Karen, and Dylan Arnold as Cameron Elam, along with newcomer Victoria Paige Watkins as Christy.
Halloween Kills is currently filming in Wilmington, North Carolina, set for theatrical release on October 16, 2020.
David Gordon Green returns to direct from a script he co-wrote with Danny McBride and Scott Teems.
Halloween Ends, intended as the finale of this saga, will be released on October 15, 2021. Green will direct as well, from a script he co-wrote with McBride and writers new to the series, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier.
Based on characters created by series originator John Carpenter and Debra Hill, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends will be produced by Malek Akkad, Jason Blum, and Bill Block. Green, McBride, Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, and Ryan Freimann will serve as executive producers, with Ryan Turek overseeing both projects for Blumhouse.
