‘Jigsaw’ Returns in Official Trailer for New ‘Saw’ Sequel
Are you ready to play another game? The Saw franchise is coming back to theaters this Halloween with the eighth film, titled simply Jigsaw after the iconic mastermind killer, and after a poster debut last week, the first official trailer has arrived online today.
Promising that “he returns to take back Halloween,” the trailer makes it clear that this latest incarnation will have everything that fans of the Saw series are expecting, including buckets of blood and wickedly inventive new traps.
In the new film, bodies are turning up and they’re linked to Jigsaw – or a Jigsaw copycat.
The film’s official website has also been launched with all kinds of cool teasers of how the influence of the Jigsaw killer has spread since last we saw, and you can sing up to “become Jigasaw,” at JigsawSaves.com.
The original Jigsaw himself, Tobin Bell, is confirmed to be appearing in the film in some capacity, though his character technically died way back in Saw III.
The cast also includes Laura Vandervoort (Supergirl, Smallville), Mandela Van Peebles, Brittany Allen, Callum Keith Rennie, Matt Passmore, Hannah Emily Anderson, Josiah Black, Shaquan Lewis, Michael Bolsvert, and James Gomez.
Jigsaw was written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger (Piranha 3D and Sorority Row), directed by Peter and Michael Spierig (Daybreakers, Predestination).
Jigsaw opens in theaters on October 27.
