‘Creature’ Leads Big Monsters To Mad Monster Party 2017

Mad Monster Party has announced a new venue for 2017, relocating from its home of the previous five years in Charlotte, North Carolina to nearby Rock Hill, South Carolina, about 20 miles from the prior location, and they have already announced some amazing guests, including The Creature From the Black Lagoon himself, Ricou Browning.

Other headliners at this year’s monster-sized event include Haruo Nakajima, who portrayed the King of Monsters in the original 1954 Godzilla, and Bill Bryan, who played the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in the original 1984 Ghostbusters and the Pit Bitch in Sam Raimi’s 1992 Army of Darkness, as well as Mark Steger, who played the Demogorgon in Stranger Things.

There will also be Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 reunion and photo op with Bill Johnson (Leatherface) and our friends Bill Moseley and Caroline Williams.

Night of the Living Dead stars Judith O’Dea and Russ Streiner have also been added to the guest lineup, as well as The Munsters family members Butch Patrick and Pat Priest.

Mad Monster Party is giving Friday the 13th fans a taste of The New Blood in 2017, offering a rare professional photo op with horror icon Kane Hodder appearing in full Friday the 13th Part VII makeup as his signature character, Jason Voorhees, with the film’s director and FX designer John Carl Buechler also on hand to personally help recreate the look!

Kane Hodder, who has played Jason in four films (more than anyone else), will be donning the full makeup and costume designed by director and original FX designer John Carl Buechler on Friday, March 24 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Hodder and Buechler will at Mad Monster for all three days of the convention, March 24-26, but this photo op will only take place on Friday, March 24.

Buechler is a legend in the industry with numerous notable credits on his resume, including Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, and Hatchet.

Shavar Ross of Friday the 13th Part V is also set to join the party this March at the Carolina’s biggest event of its kind.

Scream queens Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) and Lynn Lowry (The Crazies) will also be there, along with A Nightmare on Elm  Street 2 star Mark Patton, Ultraman‘s Ben Furuya, The Toxic Avenger‘s Mark Torgl, The Greasy Stranger‘s Michael St. Michaels and Sky Elobar, WWE wrestlers Ric Flair and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, and heavy metal legend Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Superjoint).

And from a galaxy from far, far way, the great Bill Dee Williams (The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Batman, The Lego Batman Movie) is also coming to party.

We are also pretty revved up to see the Roadkill Gore-age, featuring iconic horror vehicles like Christine, the Back to the Future DeLorean, the Duel truck, and The Munsters Koach and Dragula.

Mad Monster Party will take over Hood Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina on March 24-26, 2017. Tickets are on sale now at MadMonster.com.
