Michael Myers Joins Art the Clown at Mad Monster Party 2019

The largest event of its kind in the Carolinas, the Mad Monster Party horror convention has set its return to Charlotte, North Carolina for the weekend of Feb. 22-24, 2019, promising yet another epic gathering of horror and pop culture icons, including the newest Michael Myers, our friend James Jude Courtney of this year’s Halloween movie, and the man behind Terrifier‘s Art the Clown, David Howard Thornton, among others.

James Jude Courtney and David Howard Thornton will be joined by Terrifier writer/director Damien Leone (All Hallows’ Eve), in addition to legendary creature actor Doug Jones (The Shape of Water, Hocus Pocus, Hellboy), the great Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Ash vs. Evil Dead), Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th VII-X, Hatchet I-III, Victor Crowley, Death House), Ray Wise (Twin Peaks, Fresh of the Boat), Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files, Shocker), and Danielle Harris (Halloween 4/5, Halloween 2007, Halloween II 2009), and Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog, Escape from New York, Tales of Halloween).

UPDATE: Miko Hughes of the original Pet Sematary will join the madness, along with Sid Haig (House of 1,000 Corpses, Halloween 2007) and pro wrestling legend The Iron Sheik, rounding out the 13 special guests.

Professional in-costume photo ops will be happening at the convention with Thornton as Art, and Hodder as “8-Bit” Jason Voorhees.

For 2019, Mad Monster announced that it is “going old school” by streamlining the show and hosting only 13 special celebrity guests, focusing on “showcasing them properly”.

From a statement released by Mad Monster on Facebook in September: “Part of the fun of our show is that celebrity guests want to participate as much as the fans. Many of them become ‘family’ and have as much fun partying past the witching hour with the rest of us. Other cons go bigger and bigger while amazing guests slip through the cracks, not getting the attention they deserve. There are just not enough hours in a show to properly showcase 25+ guests. Worse, fans ask us to bring a guest back the following year because they couldn’t afford everyone’s autograph or had to make hard choices. Now fans will have the ability to enjoy quality time with ALL of our 13 celebrity guests.”

Mad Monster Party is happening Feb. 22-24, 2019 at the Hilton Charlotte University Place in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Tickets are on sale now at MadMonster.com.
