Haunted Screams Expo Bringing Horror to Hampton, VA
A new horror convention is making its debut this month when the inaugural Haunted Screams Expo comes to Hampton, Virginia, with special guests including Tyler Mane.
The Haunted Screams Expo promises to bring an event like none other to the area. It will be hosted by Laitram Tsol, a well-known horror character on the convention circuit, and will feature a haunted house on site, charity raffle, assorted vendors, a makeup contest, costume contests both days, and a VIP dance party with DJ Raw Base, in addition to celebrity guests.
As previously reported, Tyler Mane will be making an appearance. Mane of course played Michael Myers in Rob Zombie’s Halloween (2007) and Halloween II (2009), as well as Sabretooth in the original X-Men movie.
Additional guests include Tom Proctor (Guardians of the Galaxy, Swamp Thing, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers), Jonathan Tiersten (Sleepaway Camp), and Monique Dupree (House of Hardcore, Step Up 3D).
The Haunted Screams Expo is happening Sept. 21-22 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, VA. Tickets are on sale now here.
Discounted hotel rooms are available for $129 a night at the Embassy Suits by Hilton, which connects to the convention center. Just mention the Haunted Screams Expo when you call 757-827-8200 to make a reservation.
There will be a makeup contest on Saturday, Sept. 21, starting at 1:00 p.m., and costume contests for kids at 4:30 and adults at 5:30 p.m. on both days, and Halloween Daily News will be interviewing and photographing each of the winners.
Makeup contestants must bring their own models will have from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. to bring their creations to life. The top four winners will receive a trophy and free admission to the expo next year. The first place winner will receive a makeup case that retails for over $300. Any kind special makeup effects are welcome, with judging to be based on originality, difficulty, and conformity. You may bring pre-made clothes to accent your look.
There will also be a VIP after party starting at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night.
