Jack Quaid Joins Cast of New ‘Scream’ Movie
The cast continues to grow for the upcoming fifth Scream movie, as Jack Quaid is the latest to join the return of Ghostface.
Variety broke the news today that Jack Quaid, who was most recently seen in Amazon’s The Boys and previously appeared in The Hunger Games, Rampage, and Tragedy Girls, has joined the cast in an unknown role.
As previously reported, Quaid joins franchise newcomers Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, and returning legacy cast members Courteney Cox, reprising her role as Gale Weathers, and David Arquette, reprising his role as Dewey Riley.
The new Scream is being directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of the filmmaking group Radio Silence (Ready or Not, V/H/S) from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery, Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not, Castle Rock). Creator Kevin Williamson and the third member of the Radio Silence trio, Chad Villella, are executive producing with Project X Entertainment’s Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak serving as producers.
Filming is still currently scheduled to take place this fall in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group will release the new Scream in theaters on January 14, 2022.
