Witching Season Films Announces Halloween Slasher ‘He Never Left’
Witching Season Films, the indie production company behind The Witching Season series and They Live Inside Us, have announced that their next feature film will be a Halloween slasher called He Never Left, and the opening scene and official poster have been released online, coinciding with the launch of a crowdfund campaign to raise money for the production.
While They Live Inside Us, which had its world premiere screening at our own Halloween International Film Festival, is a Stephen King-style haunted house thriller, He Never Left promises to be a straight up slasher.
The official synopsis: After hearing strange noises from an adjoining motel room, a federal fugitive accidentally becomes the target of a notorious killer, who’s legend has haunted the local community for decades.
The film is written and directed by James Morris, and produced by Morris and his Witching Season collaborator Michael Ballif, who will also be reprising his role as cinematographer. It will feature a score by composer Randin Graves, and an original mask created and designed by Billy-James of Open Grave FX.
The opening scene of the film was shot in secret and released online on October 28, along with the official poster designed by acclaimed artist Marc Webb of Sadist Art Designs.
With production already started, Witching Season Films hopes to have the project shot by summer 2022, with an anticipated film festival tour and release later next year.
You can watch the first six minutes of the film and see the official poster and first images from He Never Left below.
