‘Totally Killer’ Trailer Drops for Time Traveling Halloween Horror Comedy
The full official, surprisingly explicit trailer for this October’s new Halloween horror comedy Totally Killer was released online today, and it looks totally fun, playing up the time traveling plot of the film with a Back To The Future reference.
First announced back in May of 2022, the new film, from Amazon Studios and Blumhouse, stars Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Olivia Holt (Cruel Summer), Julie Bowen (Modern Family, Hubie Halloween), and Randall Park (Always Be My Maybe, Fresh Off the Boat). The cast also includes Liana Liberato (Scream VI), Kelcey Mawema, Charlie Gillespie, and Lochlyn Munro..
It is directed by Nahnatchka Khan (Always Be My Maybe, Young Rock, Don Wong), from a screenplay by Jen D’Angelo (Hocus Pocus 2, Hocus Pocus 3) based on an original script by David Matalon and Sasha Perl-Raver.
According to the updated synopsis, in the film, thirty-five years after the shocking murder of three teens, the infamous ‘Sweet Sixteen Killer’ returns on Halloween night to claim a fourth victim. Seventeen-year-old Jamie (Shipka) ignores her overprotective mom’s (Bowen) warning and comes face-to-face with the masked maniac and, on the run for her life, accidentally time travels back to Halloween 1987, the night of the original killings. Forced to navigate the unfamiliar and outrageous culture of the 1980s, Jamie teams up with her teen mom (Holt) to take down the killer once and for all, before she’s stuck in the past forever.
It is rated “R” for “bloody violence, language, sexual material, and teen drug/alcohol use.”
Totally Killer will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 6.
