[Interview] The China Brothers Talk ‘Night Shift’, Halloween in the U.K., and More

The new horror movie Night Shift was released this week, starring Phoebe Tonkin in a totally phenomenal performance, and we talked to the film’s twin writers and directors Paul and Benjamin China about crafting a new twist in the “motel horror” subgenre, subverting viewer expectations, their cinematic influences, and more.

In a fun video conversation on Friday, we also talked about the challenges of making a single-location feature film, and of course we discussed Halloween in the brothers’ native U.K. and their envy of American celebrations of the holiday, as well as their own love of horror and not being afraid to embrace it as filmmakers.

You can watch our full exclusive video interview with Night Shift writers and directors The China Brothers below.

Night Shift is out now on VOD. (Watch it on Amazon Prime Video here.)
